Brass Candy thermometer ages back to between 1872 to 1890. The top reads TAYLOR BROS Rochester, N.Y.
The only place I’ve seen this one is in museums! This candy thermometer is extremely old and it still works. I put it under sought-after water and look at the picture it read the temperature. Unreal!
History:
Tycos Biographical Dates: 1851 - 1992 Historical Dates: founded by 1851 - 1872 by ***** ***** and David Kendall Their firm was called Kendall and Taylor. name change (1872 - 1890 to Taylor Bros. incorporated ). This one!!!1890 - 1907 as Taylor Bros. Corporation. merger 1968 - 1983 with Ritter Pfaudler Corp., a Rochester-based manufacturer of medical, dental and water processing equipment and supplies. This resulted in a holding company called Sybron Corp.
