First edition, first printing hardcover copy of The Killing of the Unicorn: Dorothy Stratten (1960-1980) by Peter Bogdanovich (William Morrow & Company, 1984). extremely rare true first edition of this true crime and biography of Dorothy Stratten. With several pages of photographs. Jacket now protected in newly-released (removable) archival sleeve but with some rubbing/scuffing to covers (especially to back) and shelf wear around the edges, including mild chipping and creasing. Boards are straight and clean but with corners bumped and small dented areas on top outer edge. Slight fading towards top edge of boards. Binding is split at photos’ insert pages though spine is straight, all pages are attached and binding remains quite firm on the whole. Small dented area to rear endpapers and last few pages. Pages are clean and unmarked though tanned. See photos for condition.
