Rare Antique Avery 1885 Crab on a Platter Needle Case Brass Trinket Box Patina

This is an antique 1885 Victorian brass CRAB ON PLATTER needle case. The crab is made of brass on a nickel-silver platter. On the underside it is marked W. Avery & Son. REDDITCH. RD 30180. The needle case is 3 and 1/4 inches long and 2 and 1/2 inches wide. During the time these special needle cases were made the pins and needles were very precious and important to the woman of the house. Today, they are just as elegant and very intriguing to the collector. The hinge works well, and it opens and closes nicely. This needle case is in magnificent condition and wears her age well with beautiful green patina highlighting all her features. This is definitely a collector piece to be envied.​
